Cuban banking at the service of the people

Cuban banking at the service of the people

With the reaffirmation of the commitment expressed by its slogan: Cuban banking at the service of the people, the workers of the Credit and Commerce Bank in the province of Granma will honor its day, this October 13.

The program of activities for the date, which recalls the day that marks the nationalization of Cuban banking, and which began last October 7, this year has the particular objective of recognizing the work of all the members of that institution and of the entire banking system in Granma, as in the rest of the country’s territories, during the fight against the Covid 19 pandemic.

The professional training of the Bandec groups, a permanent task among whose actions the practices for the use of new technologies have had priority; its contribution to updating the Cuban economic model, and the work carried out even in times of a pandemic to guarantee financial transactions and the financing of commercial flows, will be, among others, the outstanding values during this conference.

This date of homage was instituted because on October 13, 1960, the Banking Nationalization Law was issued by the Cuban revolutionary government.

That day in which every year the most outstanding workers in the banking sector are honored, the appointment of Commander Ernesto Che Guevara as the first revolutionary president of the National Bank of Cuba is also remembered.
