Dairy industry guarantees vitality of productions

With the essential number of direct production workers, the Bayamo Dairy Products Enterprise (Granlac) guarantees the vitality of the production lines for this stage of the year.

“By having closed a quarter overachieving the March´s plan and the first three months of the year in the midst of a difficult situations with the supply of milk and the lack of some raw materials, gratified us” explained Luis Rafael Virelles Barreda, its director.

“The workers make good use of the raw materials we have to ensure the basic food, the assigned for the Ideal markets, whose assortments have been rearranged as a result of the latest measures due to the Coronavirus,” adds Virelles Barreda.

Granlac continue producing the same products as usual, and maintains its six base business units, four in Bayamo, one in Manzanillo and the other in Media Luna.

“Some productions has been increase in this case the Miragur and flavored soy milk are produced practically every other day”, explained Virelles Barreda.

“We continue providing El Dulpan, Siboney Rosa La Bayamesa markets, with the products that used to go to the General García facilites, such as fortified rice cereal, lacteal flour and other; the bonbon cream, and ice cream, in fewer quantities due to the lack of milk.

“The melted cheese was directed to the pizzerias; the rest of the productions are above the plan¨, the manager noted.

Before the Miragur was destined to the Ideal markets and some entities; today it extends to other markets, and once or twice a week to the municipalities of Cauto Cristo, Jiguaní, Guisa and Buey Arriba, which had never received it.
