Effective management, which takes advantage of the abundant mango harvest, characterizes the industrial process at the Yara Canning Factory, in the province of Granma, since the beginning of the current fruit collection campaign. Unquestionable is the contribution of its group in this good step that willingly faces the intense work days, from dawn until late afternoon, to respond to the arrival at the plant of the volumes of raw material. Juan Franklin Almiral Rodríguez, head of the Unit, reported that they exceed 1,320 tons, of the 3,600 planned with Agriculture for the stage. Almiral Rodríguez said that they comply with the May plan, to which the accelerated maturation of the mango has contributed, especially in the mountainous area of Bartolomé Masó and in the town of Yara itself. He explained the serious difficulties with the maintenance of the equipment, without being able to make it effective, due to the lack of some material resources that has hit them, which required several innovative alternatives to start and not stop the manufacturing process. Most of the factory’s technological equipment is more than 50 years old, so spare parts are not produced and those that are still active are the result of the work of its operators, creativity and effort of the members of the Association of Innovators and Rationalizers of the center.
