A rice producer with important results in this activity became the first direct delegate of Granma to the 12th Congress of the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP) to be held from May 16 to 17 of this year in Havana.
The peasant Wilian López Casanova is from Rio Cauto municipality, he is dedicated to the rice production since 2009 and the last eight years he has led the Enrique Moreno Credit and Services Cooperative with good results, the entity is the largest rice producing in Granma and the second in the country.
The productive base, inserted in the movement of 100 thousand quintals of the cereal reached 193 thousand quintals of wet wild rice in the last season with yields of 4.2 tons per hectare.
Experiences in agro-technical management and innovations for crop care, among others, are the topics that will lead the farmer’s appointment.
Wilian López will represent a cooperative with 35 years of experience in the rice cultivation and will be the spokesman of the commitment of all farmers of Granma to continue being the largest producers of this line in Cuba.
