Gastronomy adjusts to the epidemic stage

Bárbara Rodríguez Pacheco, coordinator of programs and objectives in the Granma´s Government, assured on Tuesday on television space, that gastronomy is once again playing an important role in the epidemic stage that the province is experiencing, and that it is called to reinforce the search for alternatives to contribute to the popular diet.

She explained that the effort is aimed at increasing take-away food offers not only in Bayamo, but in all municipalities, and in this search it is necessary, given the deficit of state supplies, to take more advantage of the self-management that resolution 99 protects.

She proposed that the entities of the sector establish coordination with the producers based in the communities where they are located, and make purchases of varied meats and other food products to carry out gastronomic services.

José Fontanal Remón, director of the Group of Commerce, Gastronomy and Services in the territory, explained that the sector is working on the implementation of a set of measures, among these precisely the elaboration of take-away food.

He explained that the sector has strong protection measures for personnel who work in these tasks, in isolation centers and others, with full observance of food safety, the wear of facemask, disinfection and hygiene.

 

He mentioned that the sale of cigars will be done in the commercial network.

He reiterated that in the case of warehouses, industrial markets, construction materials points and technical and personal service workshops, the population will be served only until 1:00 PM, both in rural and urban areas, and gastronomy throughout the province will serve until 5:00 PM, except at the San Juan El Cristo Popular Council in the municipality of Bayamo.
