Granlac dairy products Company, from Granma, works on the formation of the new direction of innovation, technology and development, based on the doctoral thesis of Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, which bases the Government system based on science and innovation for the sustainable development of the country.
The direction of innovation, technology and development aims to strengthen the links between numerous actors, including the knowledge sector (universities, science and technology entities), the sector of production of goods and services (companies, cooperatives, forms of non-state management ) and public administration, to mention some of the most important.
According to Luis Rafael Virelles Barreda, director of Granlac, this new direction of innovation, technology and development will become the heart of thought of the company based on the President’s doctoral thesis, the existence of a group of agreements with the University, and the support of several young graduates for a five-year period, which will make it possible to find alternatives to develop the dairy industry, which needs, above all, the presence of milk.
This year Granlac, like its counterparts in the rest of the country, has had a tight year, with considerable deficits in the delivery of fresh milk, its main raw material to generate dairy assortments, to which it is added that others related to the sector have tripled several times its price; on the other hand, it executes sales below cost which implies millionaire losses that prevents them from paying quarterly profits and making other exemptions.
Granlac also works on the materialization of productive chains and seeks to bring products closer to the people after an analysis of prices, wages and formats, which allow certain products to be divided and ensure greater access to the population.
