The province of Granma, after the study of 1,091 samples, diagnosed 107 positive cases for COVID 19. According to the data offered at the Press Conference of the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba (MINSAP), all of them are autochthonous.
The cases were reported to belong to Cauto Cristo (22) followed by Niquero (19), Jiguaní (11), Río Cauto (9), Buey Arriba (9), Guisa (7), Campechuela (7), Pilón (7) , Yara (5), Bartolomé Masó (5), Manzanillo (4) and Bayamo (2). 12 of the 13 municipalities diagnosed people with Sars-Cov 2. The territory showed a positivity of 69.8%, considered high, above the nation of 6.7%.
According to Dr. Francisco Durán, National Director of Hygiene and Epidemiology, the province continues to work to control the spread of Sars-Cov 2 and urged that measures should be maintained to totally eradicate the pandemic.
The health expert reported that of the 1 844 people diagnosed with COVID 19 on the island, 1 843 are natives and one imported. He regretted the death of 21 people as a result of the disease, one from Granma in the Guisa municipality.
The health authorities insist on maintaining all the protocols aimed at the control and prevention of the pandemic throughout the Cuban archipelago as there is a complex epidemiological situation.
