The province of Granma, after the study of 1,483 samples, diagnosed 143 positive cases for COVID 19. All the cases are autochthonous according to the data offered at the Press Conference of the Cuban Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP).

The cases were reported to belong to Niquero (24) followed by Cauto Cristo (22), Campechuela (15), Jiguaní (15), Pilón (15), Río Cauto (11), Buey Arriba (9), Bayamo (8), Bartolomé Masó (7), Media Luna (5), Yara (5), Manzanillo (5) and Guisa (2). The 13 municipalities diagnosed people with Sars-Cov 2.

According to Dr. Francisco Durán, National Director of Hygiene and Epidemiology, the province continues to work to control the spread of Sars-Cov 2 and urged that measures should be maintained to totally eradicate the pandemic.

The health expert reported that of the 2,364 people diagnosed with COVID 19 on the island, 2,360 are autochthonous and 4 are imported. He regretted the death of 38 people as a result of the disease, two from Granma: Campechuela (1) and Cauto Cristo (1).

The health authorities insist on maintaining all the protocols aimed at the control and prevention of the pandemic throughout the Cuban archipelago as there is a complex epidemiological situation.
