Granma is preparing to resume the school year on November 15

Granma is preparing to resume the school year in person from November 15 and guarantee the quality and success of this important event, said the Provincial Director of Education, Teresa Pérez Trinchet.

“We are calling on our entire population, family, students and workers in the sector to make it a day of joy, commitment and continuity in the processes. The class for everyone is a space not only for the reunion between students and their teachers but also for continuing important content for the comprehensive training of students”, she stressed.

In statements to Radio Bayamo, she specified that during this week the second group will complete the vaccination schedule, which includes the sixth grade, basic secondary, tenth and eleventh of pre-university and the first years of technical and pedagogical education, which guarantees their return to the classrooms on Monday 15th with the complete vaccination schedule.

She pointed out that the students of the third group, from preschool to the fifth grade of primary and special, will also be immunized between 15 and 17 and will gradually be incorporated into the classrooms to ensure that most are vaccinated at the time of resuming the school year.

She stressed that convalescent students from Covid-19 or another disease, who have not been able to get vaccinated, will also be incorporated into schools, where the safety and protection of students and workers will be guaranteed, through compliance with hygienic sanitary measures.

The provincial director of Education called for the attendance, punctuality and discipline of all students to resume the school period interrupted by the pandemic and thereby guarantee the continuity and quality of the educational teaching process.

He stressed that in the province meetings are held with parents in schools, to make clarifications and guide the family about the restart of this school stage in person and that answers are given to students who do not have the uniform sizes, with alternatives so that this situation is not an impediment to return to the classroom.

Regarding the preparations to reopen the schools next Monday, the directive stressed that the workers of the sector ensure the conditioning of the centers and their self-preparation to take care of the students, according to diagnoses and psycho-emotional situations that they may present to get back get back to classrooms.

The Director of Education in Granma emphasized that the resumption of the school year in the province has been organized from the completion of the vaccination scheme of the students and that it will be an educational party highly anticipated by the students and the Granma family.
