Live your roots is the motto that presides over the twenty-seventh edition of the Fiesta de la Cubanía, from October 17 to 20 in Bayamo, to be developed mainly from the digital platforms of the territory, due to the current pandemic that is hitting us.
During the press conference held the day before, it emerged that the most important cultural event in Granma is dedicated to the patrician from Bayamo Francisco Vicente Aguilera, on the bicentennial of his birth, to the Cuban Son, as a musical genre, recently decreed as Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Nation and to the 60th anniversary of Words to Intellectuals and UNEAC.
The provincial director of Culture, Yordan Roberto León specified that on this occasion Cuba was conceived as a great festive and thought day in which the programming is coherently articulated to the thematic lines to which it is dedicated, in a reduced framework of activities face-to-face, with a limited audience.
He also specified that each day will be characterized according to the announcement of the event: on the 17th to Francisco Vicente Aguilera, on the 18th to Words to the intellectuals and on the 19th to the Cuban Son and in their activities there will be representations of the municipalities of Granma, and online from the eastern provinces.
These elements highlight the magnitude of the celebrations that will be broadcast on the Videos Crisol channel, the main cultural communication platform of the event fueled by various motivations:
The 165th anniversary of the Manzanillo theater was founded, the centenary of Cintio Vitier, the 60th of the Literacy Campaign, the 35th anniversary of the Hermanos Saiz Association and the three decades of the Casa de la Nacionalidad Cubana and the Andante Street Theater.
