III Regional Workshop on Integrated Community Work in the eastern part of the country is held

With the reading of a message from Esteban Lazo Hernández, president of the National Assembly of People’s Power and the Council of State, the III Regional Workshop on Integrated Community Work (TCI) was inaugurated this Saturday in the eastern part of the country, with headquarters in the province of Granma.

“Our greetings and recognition to all the participants of this important event. Integrated community work is the consolidation of People’s Power in our communities, favors the construction of Socialism from the neighborhood, its material and also spiritual transformation, the unity of all factors in order to build the society to which we aspire”, says the letter, read by Carlos Rafael Fuentes León, vice president of the Local Organs Commission of the Cuban legislature.

Miriam Brito Sarroca, head of the Commission of Local Bodies of the Cuban Parliament, expressed that, based on the indications of the member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Party Esteban Lazo Hernández, head of the National Assembly of People’s Power and the Council of State, an organizational process for these activities was developed throughout the country. In this sense, she recognized that, of the 1,401 popular councils, ICT workshops were held in 1,397 and 8,653 delegates presented their experiences. She highlighted that the municipal workshops were previously held, where 1,811 papers were presented.

The inauguration of the event was also attended by Yanaisi Capó Nápoles, member of the Central Committee of the Party and First Secretary of the PCC in Granma; Francisco Escribano Cruz and Yanetsy Terry Gutiérrez, governor and lieutenant governor of the territory, respectively; Felicia Suárez Martínez, member of the Council of State; Fernando Rojas, Deputy Minister of Culture; among other authorities of national and Granma organizations and institutions; as well as delegates from Las Tunas, Holguín, Santiago de Cuba, Guantánamo and the host province.

Likewise, the participants enjoyed the interpretation of the composer and performer Reinier Velázquez Álvarez, known as Teniente Rey.
