The province of Granma continues without reporting new COVID-19 positive cases. According to information given by Dr. Kenia González Medina, head of Medical Care of the Provincial Health Directorate in Granma, of the 223 samples pending results, some 143 were negative to the disease studied at the Tropical Medicine Institute (IPK) and from Santiago de Cuba laboratories.

According to Dr. González, epidemiological surveillance measures are reinforced in the territory. “Although there are no people diagnosed positive with the new coronavirus in Granma so far, persons with respiratory symptoms, who come from another provinces or have been in contact with people who moved out the territory, are considered suspect cases. In this way we ensure a preventive diagnosis that has been favorable, “she stressed.

The Health official urged the population to avoid mobility outside the home and mainly travel to other municipalities in the territory or provinces of the country, as one of the ways to stop the spread of the pandemic. “In COVID-19 times, it is necessary to think and act responsibly to preserve everyone’s health,” she stated.
