Stockpiles of mango are increasing in mountainous areas of the municipality of Bartolomé Masó, a fruit that is harvested mainly between the months of April and July.

Ciro Cabrales González, director of the Base Business Unit, (UEB) marketer of agricultural products in the territory, said the harvest is guaranteed so that it is not lost in the ground.

Cabrales González reported that they pay producers directly, who have received more than two million pesos, for mango volumes, as a result of the application of one of the 63 measures to stimulate agricultural production.

“Daily we exceed the collection of 120 tons of mango that we send to the canning industry in Yara and Contramaestre, in addition we sell in the commercial network and to the population, reaching 20 neighborhoods”, highlighted the manager.

The Bartolomé Masó UEB has points of purchase including the mountains, in all the Popular Councils, where they deliver the containers and transport the production.
