Manzanillo tightens measures against the COVID-19 outbreak

Temporary Working Group of Manzanillo strengthens the  measures to prevent  the transmission of the pandemic in the city of the Gulf of Guacanayabo, with an incidence of 79.53 per 100,000 inhabitants.

The reinforcement is focused in two main directions, with priority in the screening, as a basic tool for the early location of the possible infected in the community and with respiratory symptoms suggestive of COVID-19.

“Depth, quality and efficacy,” said Alexander Specht Céspedes, first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba in this municipality, are key to this community work that is directed by the health areas, through the basic groups of the 124 family doctor offices to make the survey and detect the real situation.

The town has 38 sources of infection, five control of sources spread in areas of the polyclinic one, with five confirmed cases, two patients belonging from the Ángel Ortiz Vázquez, six cases of the Polyclinic three, the Hermanos Labrada polyclinic with two cases, and another in a health institution, so far with two positives; in addition, an event in a non-health institution involving 45 patients.

From the meeting, once again the authorities called on the social responsibility to overcome from this outbreak and that the effects on the population will be least, compared to other territories.
