The 24th edition of the Carlos Puebla in Memoriam National Trova Festival, will take place in the southeast city of Manzanillo, from November 30 to December 2, to mark the anniversary of foundation of the Nueva Trova Movement, (New Cuban Song) in that town.
The jury chaired by Juan García Ramírez, director of Ni mas, ni menos group and integrated by the musical director José Vidal Martín and decimista Roselia López, will assess the 14 finalist works, of 18 contestants, from Santiago de Cuba, Las Tunas and Granma.
In the context of the anniversary of the landing of Granma yacht, the event is also dedicated to 102 years of Carlos Puebla´s birth, the centenary of the troubadour Eduardo Batista, the 25 of Aché septet and 10 of the Ni mas, ni menos Sextet.
Convened by the Jaime Benemelis, Trova Home, the event pays tribute to Carlos Puebla. Who was born on September 11, 1917 in Manzanillo and is author of popular songs such as: La Reforma Agraria, Son de la alfabetización, Ya ganamos la pelea, among other classics of the Cuban musical repertoire.
