Members of the Provincial Assembly of People´s Power received recognition

All those who participated in the province foundation and in the constitution of the Provincial Assembly of People´s Power of Granma and its current delegates received a recognitio, by the First Secretary of the Party, Federico Hernández, during the solemn session, which constitutes the closure of the working of this body in the territory.

The also member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party told that with this step nothing is weakened, since it responds to the Constitution of the Republic and the process of strengthening the People´s Power, in its mission of defending the Revolution and our social conquests.

The leader recalled on this occasion the legacy of the outstanding heroine Celia Sánchez Manduley, who was also deputy to the parliament for the municipality of Manzanillo, on the 40th anniversary of her death.

The top political leader of Granma said that the Revolution, which has faced a lot of difficult situations that have affected the economy and the people, but we are here and will continue to carry out our project.

The Second Solemn Session of the 12 term of the Provincial Assembly of People’s Power, was chaired by the Hand-over of Functions Certificate and Activities of the Central State Body, to the Provincial Assembly of People’s Power, dated from December 24, 1976, document carried by José Manuel Reuco García, a cadre that has been working in the direction of the Assembly for many years.

The Vice President of the Provincial Assembly, Yanetsy Terry Gutiérrez, who led the session, stressed that the People´s Power was created 43 years ago, on November 7, 1976, when at La Demajagua, Commander in Chief Fidel Castro made know the new administrative political division, and the province of Granma was founded.
