The Minister of Internal Trade, Betsy Díaz Velázquez, inaugurated La Experimental industrial market on Tuesday night, destined for the sale of household supplies and term items in Bayamo.
On the occasion, the owner inquired about the dynamics of the store and customer acceptance of the new retail initiative, designed to make it easier for workers to acquire high-demand items.
Díaz Velázquez highlighted the importance of establishing linkages with the state and private sector to maintain offers of durable goods for forward sale and called for evaluating the quality of the items, as well as the prices of some products, due to their impact on the population from a province that has always been a reference for its reasonable prices.
After the inauguration of La Experimental industrial market, the minister held an exchange with workers, administrators and young people in the sector, where she invited them to promote individual preparation, provide a better service, work in order to improve commerce and gastronomy, promote the linking with various actors in the economy to create varied and affordable offers for the population.
The Minister of Internal Trade of Cuba, Betsy Díaz Velázquez, visited several units of this sector in Granma today to evaluate their management and operation.
The owner toured La Agricultora store, located in El Horno Popular Council, a unit that markets the products of the basic basket, commission agents and those acquired by Resolution 99.
Díaz Velázquez pointed out the need to link the store with farmers to guarantee fluid milk for diabetics and children from zero to seven years of age, thus reducing expenses on imports and ensuring sustainability in the distribution of dairy.
The Minister called for evaluating the costs of commission agents with the client as they may be excessive for the inhabitants of a province that has always been characterized by having the lowest prices in the country.
In exchange with Mirtha Sánchez Li, administrator of La Agricultora store, the owner of Commerce in Cuba urged to train workers to achieve efficiency, guarantee the chain to expand the offers and make the most of local potential for the benefit of the people.
Betsy Díaz Velázquez indicated that protected by Resolution 34, of the Ministry of Commerce, stores must prepare to exercise their function as Base Business Unit, a process that provides autonomy and financial independence.
In her tour of reference units of the trade in Granma, Betsy Díaz Velázquez, minister of the sector, also visited Victorino store, located in the municipality of Guisa, where she evaluated the sales of industrial products and the supply of the inputs of the basic basket.
In the establishment, located in the Turquino Plan in Granma, Díaz Velázquez verified the commercialization of household supplies that she suggested maintaining so that the inhabitants of this intricate area do not have to travel to the city to acquire these supplies.
In that sense, she indicated that circular Number 3 of the Ministry of Internal Trade should be put into operation, which expands and improves the services of the stores. It also allows us to hire street vendors and home messengers to bring basic necessities to hard-to-reach areas.
Gulberto Leyva Guerra, administrator of the Victorino store, in exchange with the minister, raised the need to acquire refrigeration equipment to preserve meat products and others acquired by self-management, such as pork and sheep meat.
On the occasion José Rafael Fontanal Remón, director of the Business Group of Commerce in Granma, announced the repair of the roof of the Victorino store and ensure the sale of work clothes, toys and shoes for children in areas of Turquino Plan.
The Minister of Internal Trade also visited El Raudal store, where she called to revive the establishment to provide a better service to the people, and La Unión and La Única stores where she inquired about the management to maintain the sale of industrial inputs and those acquired by the Resolution 99.
During the tour, the trade owner suggested the sale of gastronomic products in the stores to bring and facilitate the acquisition of these assortments to the residents of Guisa’s Turquino Plan.
Betsy Díaz Velázquez also evaluated the market offers of the Family Attention System of the Victorino Popular Council and called to promote the productive chain and take advantage of the agricultural potential of the territory to expand and diversify offers, in order to generate profits and increase the salary of Workers.
The Minister of Internal Commerce exchanged with residents of Corralillo Arriba town where she heard concerns about delays in the supply and assortments of the basic basket, insufficient supplies for field workers, and the few gastronomic offers and sweets, breads and soft drinks.
The owner called for alternatives to facilitate the acquisition of products according to the purchasing power of customers.
Betsy Díaz Velázquez toured Las Maravillas gastronomic complex located around the Calixto García Park in Guisa, the ideal market where she called for evaluating prices and creating more affordable offers for the population and El Mirador, a site where she highlighted the importance of the preparation of the workers of the Commerce.
