The Ministry of Economy and Planning (MEP) approved today 83 applications for the creation of private MSMEs.

With this decision, there are 3,375 economic actors approved since the process began in September 2021. Of the MSMEs, 3,274 are private, 51 state-owned, and 50 are cooperatives.

Due to their origin, 55% are reconversions of pre-existing businesses and 45% correspond to new ventures.

In total, it is estimated that these economic actors will generate 55,205 new jobs in the economy.

Of all those approved, 117 are part of local development projects, 36 have previously carried out export operations and 11 are incubated in the Science and Technology Park of Havana.
