Paid tribute to the Comander in Chief in Bayamo

A political-cultural evening to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, was held on Monday night in Bayamo, on the third anniversary of his physical passing.

Under the theme “Fidel por siempre”, (Fidel forever) and directed by Leonardo Guevara Ramos, the eveninig was held  at the Ñico López Musum Park.

With song, poems and dance the vigil included performances of local artists such as Doris Estiven, Magda Beatriz Rivera, Noelvis Cabrera, Margarita Alarcón, Rubén Álvarez and the concert pianist Gerardo Mesa.

Also, Elizabeth Sánchez, Rayda Alfonso, Ruslan Domínguez, Ary Rodríguez and the Ismaelillo Choir, as well as students of the Manuel Muñoz Cedeño Professional School of Art, also offered their performances.

The evening was chaired by Federico Hernández, first secretary of the PCC in Granma and Samuel Calzada Deyunde, President of the Municipal Assembly of People´s Power in Bayamo, among other authorities.

The Ñico López park-museum, former Carlos Manuel de Céspedes Barracks, was attacked at the same time to the Moncada Garrison in Santiago de Cuba on July 26th , 1953, events led by Fidel Castro Ruz.

On that historic site, the ashes of the Commander in Chief  stayed on the night of December 2nd, 2016, during his journey to Santiago de Cuba.
