Artists, writers, researchers, teachers and journalists from Granma received in this city the Provincial Culture Award and the Víctor Moreno distinction, in recognition of their outstanding work in 2019.

In the Literature category, the award went to the poet, narrator and prominent decimista Alexander Aguilar López, while the Library award was presented to Rebeca del Carmen Brull Ramírez, for her valuable work of reading promotion.

The Provincial Research Award was to Idelmis Mary Aguilar, while the Community Culture went to Argelio Anaya.

The Cultural Heritage award was granted to the archaeologist and professor José Manuel Yero Masdeu, while José Alberto Tamayo Díaz (El Ruiseñor) and Ramiro Zayas Alba were distinguished in Music category, and Danilo Sierra Rosales received the Art Instructor award.

On this occasion, the painter Raylven Freeman deserved the prize in the Visual Arts category; professor Sandra María Delgado Valdés, in artistic education; the playwright Norberto Reyes Blázquez, in Performing Arts; and the journalists Liuba Mustelier Ramírez and Alfredo Brito Álvarez, in Cultural Journalism and Television sections, respectively.

The Provincial Cinema award was granted to Pedro Heriberto Rodríguez, leader of the Picacho community audiovisual project, and the poet and program director Abel Guerrero Castro deserved in the category of Radio.

The Víctor Montero distinction was presented to professor Juana García Fonseca, radio broadcaster David Rodríguez Rodríguez, and intellectual Carlos Enrique Rodríguez Lora.

At the Carlos Manuel de Céspedes´ Birthplace Museum, the awards ceremony was held, as part of the activities of celebrations for the Culture Worker´s Day in Granma.
