The closure of the San Juan El Cristo Popular Council, in Bayamo, was announced today during Frecuencia 12 television program, as it is one of the areas with the greatest spread of the virus (SARS-CoV 2).
“The closure of this demarcation, announced by Calixto Santiesteban, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba in the Bayamo municipality, covers: from Amado Estévez to Parada streets, and from Linea to Màximo Gómez Streets as of Friday, March 5. ”
The measure will reduce the transit of people through this place, one of the most central areas of the National Monument City, in order to avoid the chain of transmission of infections as it is one of the areas where Covid-19 has spread the most.
It has been defined by the governor that the entities framed within this popular council, as of Friday, March 5, will work until 1:00 pm seeking to reduce the mobility of people, including the trd, cimex, caracol stores and banks.
“This will allow that after that time there will be a closure in the operation of the popular council and that along with it the health personnel can carry out with quality and in an intensive way the active searches in these sites.
“Starting at 8:00 pm, a patrol system would begin by the Ministry of the Interior, the National Revolutionary Police and mass organizations in order to guarantee the effectiveness of this measure.
“Those who work outside this popular council must be released around 12 noon so that they can return to their place of residence on time,” Santisteban said.
He also informed that the transport associated with this area will operate from Friday the 5th, only until 7:30 pm; Saturdays until 1:00 pm, while on Sunday no transportation is planned, in order to cut the transmission of the virus.
The delay of this new measure will depend on how the disease in question evolves, for which citizen discipline is requested.
