Summer for life begins

Summer for life begins

This year the summer in Cuba has a different touch in the Culture sector when it is applied, on Saturday, July 4, the second phase after COVID-19.

It is an atypical summer stage, hence its motto “Summer for Life”, an occasion in which cultural institutions will provide services completing the indications established for the current recovery phase.

Designing and promoting cultural proposals that contribute to the formation of values, mainly in children, adolescents and young people, are some of the indications of the Ministry of Culture for the current season.

During this season, the programming of artistic trends such as trova, traditional and concert music, small-format groups, and others will be promoted, also using the use of social networks to promote contests, staging, book presentations, video clips and other promotional ways.

In necessary cases, the use of facemask and the physical distance between people will be required, mainly in workshops for children and adolescents in Culture Houses, Art Schools and other locations that require it.

Boosting the development of sociocultural projects of proven quality in the communities and the carrying out of activities for different audiences, are also a strategic part for the current stage.

The use of artistic talent, along with art instructors, particularly José Martí brigade members, librarians, museum technicians, institutional and natural promoters, among others, constitute a valuable technical force to employ.

It is a unique summer, to be enjoyed during the months of July and August, from individual and collective responsibility, adapted to the epidemiological situation that the country is experiencing to return to the new normality.
