The temporary working group in the eastern province of Granma increases restriction measures and health protocols due to the growth in the numbers of patients infected by the new coronavirus. After six months without reporting ill, the eastern territory shows a new outbreak of Covid- 19, for which urgent measures are implemented.

Granma increases the number of Covid 19 patients in the last fifteen days. Just over 700 cases since the beginning of the pandemic in Cuba, Public Health specialists report.

The incidence rate of the new coronavirus amounts to 37.2 per 100 thousand inhabitants.

Although municipalities such as Río Cauto, Media Luna and Pilón have not reported cases in the last 15 days, measures are taken to stop the outbreak of the disease.

The closing of the access points of Bayamo, the establishment of control points at the entrances of the province to other territories of the eastern region, and the timely implementation of Decree 31, established by the Council of Ministers, which guides the imposition of sanctions and health violations related to Covid-19.

The First Secretary of the Party in Granma, Federico Hernández, called for strict discipline.

“If we must insist on the discipline of our people, on the role of the cadres to avoid institutional events, and on individual commitment and responsibility. We all resolve this, therefore we all have to contribute a share of responsibility in compliance with preventive measures, discipline in the social order, civic norms, norms of formal education, which is the patrimony of the Revolution ”, said Federico Hernández, First Secretary of the Party in Granma.

Other isolation centers are set up in this area of ​​the country, to ensure the health not only of patients confirmed with Covid-19, but also their contacts.
