For working hard to advance the economic and social development of the territory, the Plenary of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba spoke in its ordinary session held last Saturday at its headquarters in the city of Bayamo.
Its members evaluated the implementation of the Economic-Social Strategy and agreed on the urgency of accelerating its application, in the face of the global crisis caused by Covid-19 and the intensified blockade of the United States government against our country.
The debate focused the analysis on the challenges in the implementation of the 63 measures and the new marketing policy that stimulate an increase in agricultural production, export funds and import substitution.
The plenary session addressed the epidemiological situation, advances in mass vaccination and reiterated the essential of maintaining active investigations and organization in suspect centers, family doctor and nurse offices and respiratory consultations.
The need to strengthen community groups was deepened so that the province reduces the plateau of positive cases to the coronavirus and the complexity of the pandemic in some municipalities
After listening to the interventions of health authorities, Federico Hernández Hernández, first secretary of the Party in Granma, said that the population has to trust in the work of confronting Covid-19 since the new normality will return gradually, without neglecting the protocol and the responsibility of the citizen.
The also member of the Central Committee urged to be more demanding in the action of leaders and labor groups to solve the problems and obstacles that slow down the economic recovery and the confrontation with a health situation that we are going to overcome.
The meeting included preparations for the restart of the school year, the adoption of measures to ensure the return of students to classrooms gradually.
In addition, it evaluated the strategy for the attention to the population and vulnerable neighborhoods, the energy situation and the political processes that guarantee the continuity of the socialist project, the agreements and guidelines of the VIII Party Congress.
