The highest authorities of the Party and the Government in Granma witnessed the development of the First Integrating Workshop for Attention to Neighborhoods and Communities, which took place in the Pedro Pompa district of Bayamo, where the pilot experience of resuscitation and community intervention in the province is carried out.
The meeting was attended by residents of this neighborhood and representatives of organizations involved in the transformation projects undertaken in the area, where social actors and members of the local political and mass organizations are involved.
Carlos Manuel Torres, mayor of the Monument City, highlighted there that similar to this project, another thirty have begun to be promoted in communities with vulnerable situations in Bayamo, to solve various approaches and concerns of its inhabitants.
Before members of the community and representatives of entities related to the purpose, Federico Hernández, First Secretary of the Party in Granma, highlighted the importance of experience to solve problems that concern the population and that can be solved with the cooperation and participation of all.
He made reference to the need to improve integrated community work, which is a continuity of the guidelines of the Eighth Congress of the Party, so that the structures in the neighborhoods play their role with the support of the neighbors and thus begin a process of cohesion and integration, which allow to respond to the main concerns and problems of the population.
In the First Integrative Workshop for Attention to Neighborhoods and Communities in Granma, Yanquiel Hernández Zamora, President of the Popular Council Camilo Cienfuegos – El Valle, in Bayamo, explained the history of the community and how the experience already produces results that impact the quality of life of its settlers.
