This Saturday, January 18, will become a day of new election exercise for Cuba, when the delegates of the constituency of the People´s Power, representing the people, elect the governors and vice-governors of each province.
For this purpose, the municipal assemblies of the governing body will be constituted in electoral colleges, and their delegates will simultaneously exercise their free, direct and secret vote.
In Granma, 945 delegates will attend that act of democracy that will be lead by the President of the Municipal Electoral Council, and a deputy appointed by the State Council.
The Provincial Electoral Council, will be in charge of the calculation of the result of all municipalities, and to declare elected as provincial governor and vice governor who reach more than half of the valid votes cast.
The results are communicated to the National Electoral Council, with the mission of informing the President of the Republic and the head of the National Assembly, and then the people.
A mock election exercise was carried out last Sunday to ensure every detail was ready to undertake the vote.
On January 13th and 14th, the municipal delegates directly received the biography of the candidates for governor and vice governor, for their study and then the exercise of the vote.
The Granma people will attend that new act, represented by those who they chose as constituency delegates.
