Two thousand 629 people under surveillance due to Covid19

The national director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health, Francisco Durán reported today that 2,629 people are admitted for clinical surveillance due to Covid-19. Another 5,960 people are monitored in their homes, from the Primary Health Care, said Durán at the International Press Center in this capital.

The Caribbean island recorded three new deaths, bringing the number to date to 27. About 2,000 people were tested in the past 24 hours and 48 tested positive, for a cumulative of 862 in the country since the disease broke out more than a month ago.

The 48 new confirmed cases were Cuban, of them, 31 were contacts of previous cases or suspects and the source of infection of 17 is being investigated, Durán detailed.

As of April 15, 182 countries with Covid -19 cases are reported, with one million 948 thousand 511 confirmed cases and 125 thousand 966 deaths.

In the Americas region, 710 thousand 601 confirmed cases are registered, 36.4 percent of the total reported cases in the world, with 30 thousand 308 deaths.
