Vulnerable communities in Bayamo are being transformed

As part of the care for vulnerable communities in the city of Bayamo, the highest authorities of the province of Granma resolve the proposals of the population made for years in processes of giving answers to the electors. The concerns of the residents of the Pedro Pompa People’s Council are already part of the Municipal Economy Plan.

More than 6 thousand residents in three districts of the Pedro Pompa District, in the Camilo Cienfuegos-El Valle Popular Council in Bayamo, will benefit from completing the transformations that the highest authorities in Granma prioritize in the economic plan, in order to improve the living conditions in the community.

“This is a very low place and all the houses were flooded because, for not having sewers, for not having records, this was practically a dam, clearly speaking, and it is a historical approach, and what they do today will solve this situation, happily, ”says Roseidi de Moya Reyes, delegate of the 155 district in Pedro Pompa neighborhood.

Sewers, street improvement, and other urban maintenance are conceived in the actions.

“The people see that work is being done, there is desire, the population is helping, they are cooperating, doing the searches in front of their houses, and there is an incredible acceptance in our community,” continues the delegate of the 155 area.

“Now you can see that they are working, and they are very attentive and affectionate, and all the support we can give them in the neighborhood is given to them,” explains Ada Gloria Arévalo Leyva, a neighbor of the Pedro Pompa neighborhood in Bayamo.

“There are two wineries but another is already being planned, they are going to make a sweet bakery, and we are improving,” said Mirian Guerra Valdés, delegate of the 154 constituency in Pedro Pompa Distribution.

“They have explained that they are going to remodel the little square, the office is going to be made new”, emphasizes Arévalo Leyva.

The concerns also include the supply of drinking water.

“They have sent us some pipes with drinking water, which should be a little more frequent, but they have solved the problem for us,” says Elvia Aliaga González, a neighbor of the Pedro Pompa neighborhood in Bayamo.

In the midst of the difficult economic conditions that the country is experiencing, attention to vulnerable neighborhoods is a priority, and all agencies are involved.

Every day community leaders, managers and specialists from various sectors meet in the Pedro Pompa neighborhood itself, located in the southern part of the city, to evaluate the progress of the works.

Wastewater treatment, environmental sanitation, road and hydraulic infrastructure are issues that concern all municipal entities in more complex communities. Jobless young people are also being sought. A policy of the country where the inhabitants participate in solving their problems.
