The Cuban Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) reported on Monday 38 people with the novel SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, totaling 2,083, and no deaths have been reported.
During his usual press briefing, Dr. Francisco Duran, national director of Epidemiology at MINSAP, informed that the patients tested during the last 24 hours are Cubans, 36 of which are contacts of previous cases and the source of infection of two cases is being investigated.
Of the new cases, 33 are asymptomatic, totaling 1,087.
About 1,763 diagnostic tests were studied on Sunday so as to determine if they were positive for Covid-19, and 107,037 samples have been so far registered from people admitted as suspects and contacts of patients suffering from the disease.
Havana remains the province with the highest number of coronavirus cases, with 37 of the new cases, totaling 171 so far.
No deaths have been reported in the last hours, so the death toll remains at 83.
Cuba has been adopting measures to minimize the spread of the pandemic, with a multi-sectoral approach.
