Granma Governing Council of the People's Power met

The provincial council of Peple´s Power met on Thursday chaired by Francisco Escribano, governor of the territory. Among the topics evaluated was the approval of the livestock recovery program, the governor specifying the importance of adjusting it to each territory features.  

Granma has five livestock poles: Bayamo, Cauto Cristo, Jiguaní, Media Luna and Manzanillo. The plan outlines the need of giving vitality to livestock, where there has been a decrease, and only 8 million liters of milk are obtained and it must reach 30.

It was released that, in 1985 the province had more than 500 thousand head of cattle, 80 percent of which was milk production, the special period, economic blockade and poor management that would cause a three percent annual decrease.

Among the pressing to be resolved was the rescue of productive areas for food. For example, in Bayamo, eradicating Marabú areas to plant pastures, achieve greater use of artificial insemination, improvement of genetics using science.

Francisco Escribano clarified that, among the current requirements for enterprise with dairy products is that they will only depend on the milk that will be achieved in the territory.

Another of the topics analyzed were the approaches to the accountability process of the delegate of the People’s Power, reporting that there are 17 approaches to be resolved in the first quarter of the year.

Among the agencies involved to address the people concerns are: Commerce, with a deficit in distribution, Communal Services, in the roads restoration, City main, water supply, and Water Resources with investments.

Yanetsy Terry, deputy governor said that there is still a lot of formalism and a lack of right use of the automated information system. A sampling will be carry out in agencies to evaluate how they address the approaches from the management, it was agreed.
